Michaela is trained as both a psychotherapist in Ontario and a Counselling Therapist in Nova Scotia. She holds a bachelors of Art in Child and Youth Care Counseling from the University of Victoria. Michaela earned her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University while working full time at a government funded mental health clinic in Northern Ontario.
Michaela’s areas of experience include anxiety, depression, attachment disruptions, parenting concerns, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and autism. She has specialized training in areas such as dialectic behavioural therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, animal-assisted therapy and Lego therapy. Michaela brings into her practice the therapeutic aspects of animal-assisted therapy. She has two certified therapy dogs who commonly join sessions.

Lori Slaunwhite has been working in the fields of substance use, mental health and trauma for over 25 years.
Trained in social work and psychotherapy, Lori completed her graduate studies in Contemplative Psychotherapy through the Nalanda Institute in New York City. She uses a trauma informed, contemplative approach to her work - drawing on attachment focused, family systems oriented approaches most commonly, while incorporating mindfulness-based practice.
Lori is a Registered Trainer in an internationally-known acupuncture treatment, known as the NADA protocol. She is also Atlantic Canada’s first Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), a Registered Counselling Therapist and Registered Psychotherapist.
